Wellbeing
The Amber Flag is an initiative run by Pieta House which recognises the individual efforts of primary and secondary schools, youth reach, third level institutions, community groups, clubs and companies to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing.
Our school co-ordinator was Ms Yvonne Cahill who brought together a very hard-working committee tasked with earning our first Amber Flag and promoting a culture of wellbeing within our school.
Our wellbeing week was a huge success with many activities from a wellness walk, music Monday and yoga being enjoyed by our entire school community.
Our wellbeing notice board was always a hive of colour and positivity and the committee had regular meetings where they brainstormed new school wide ideas like buddy reading and active breaks.
In June we were delighted to receive news that we had been successful in our application and on Monday the 26th of June we asked our past pupil Amy Lillis to raise our first Amber flag.
